First Game of AAA!
A game of firsts! The Major Atom team faced Quinte, last Wednesday, competing in their first AAA Regular Season game ever. We are proud to welcome the '05s in the family!
Wednesday turned out to be a lot more than mid-week for our young '05s as they took on their very first Regular Season game within the ETA! While many players have already had the chance to experience AAA hockey during tournaments in the previous seasons, the team is only now embracing the newly found level of competition that the ETA had in store for them.
Facing Quinte, first place in the East division of the ETA last season, the Jr. Frontenacs have performed at a level that speaks to both their skills and their spirit, diving right in for a challenging encounter.
The game started off pretty abruptly as Kingston conceded a lead of 4-1 to Quinte. However, the little warriors had more to give. Slowly but surely, they recovered the deficit and even took the lead, 5-4! Go GK Go!
Unfortunately, Quinte came back, tied and then took the victory away in the last few moments of the game for a final score of 6-5.
Great start to a promising season, the team is gearing up for their next encounter. Their coach, André, has said to be very pleased with the efforts the guys put forward. He assesses the result to be a good one given the high competition level.
