The puck dropped right on time at 8am Friday the 12th and 84 games later at about 4:30pm on Sunday, the 1st annual Taylor Hall Cup Classic was in the books and a great success. We were entertained by the evenly matched play of all 36 teams over the 4 divisions of play – Minor Atom, Atom, Minor Peewee and Peewee. Championship Sunday had 12 semi-final matches that cleared the way for 4 fantastic nail biting championship finals.
Your first Champions to host the BIG CUP where:
Minor Atom:
Quinte Red Devils 3 -- Toronto Titans 2
Atom:
Seaway valley Rapids 7 -- Gloucester Rangers 5
Minor Peewee:
Vaughan Kings 1 --- Markham Majors 0
Peewee:
Ottawa Myers 3 – Grey Bruce Highlanders 0
On Championship Sunday we had the great pleasure of having Taylor Hall’s parents, Kim and Steve, be on hand to help present the team medals, player of game awards and of course the BIG CUP. Another special thank you goes out to Mr. Gavin Smith of
Lillooet B.C.. Mr. Smith graciously donated a signed Taylor Hall Windsor Spitfire jersey. We had a draw for visiting teams and Brayden Bruce of the York Simcoe Express Minor Peewee was the lucky jersey winner, congratulations.
We cannot run events like this without the help of so many great volunteers. The list is very long but I would to thank everyone who helped make this event a big success for the visiting teams, the city of Kingston and our GKMHA family.
