Hello Greater Kingston Families,
I am following up in regards to the notice most of you have read from KAMHA today. I want to bring some understanding so there is no confusion from a AAA point of view. KAMHA has created a “Plan B” giving the kids of Kingston an opportunity to play organized hockey. Greater Kingston’s Hockey’s first priority is to run and maintain a healthy AAA season for the year of 2020/2021. We will have tryouts and on ice and development sessions as permitted by OMHA. Unfortunately, with our world events at this time, NOTHING is 100% guaranteed and we are all just waiting to receive direction from Hockey Canada, The Ontario Hockey Federation and the Ontario Minor Hockey Association, who do not open for the season until August 8th, 2020. I am very sure that the first four to five days of returning to the offices, we will see communications from OMHA to Hockey Canada and OHF. Please be patient, do not assume and do not believe everything you hear. We cannot plan anything without the green light from the governing hockey organizations who in turn are waiting for the government. KAMHA is simply holding a registration to seek interest for this as a backup plan.
I am always available to talk, if you have any questions, concerns or clarifications. You are welcome to use my GK Presidential email or my personal phone (613 536 8438).
Stay Healthy,
Scott Trueman
President
