We are excited to officially introduce our coaching staff for U10 – U13 teams for the 2026/27season. This group brings experience, energy, and a true passion for developing young athletes both on and off the ice. United by a commitment to skill development, and a team-first culture, our coaches are dedicated to creating a competitive, positive, and growth-focused environment for every player.
U10 – Andrew Haussler
As a player Andrew started in the Gananoque Minor Hockey
System, before advancing to the Greater Kingston (GK)AAA program in Pee-Wee.
From there he moved on to the Kingston Voyagers. His hockey career next lead
him to Queens University where he played for 3 years and was given the
privilege of being their captain for two of those seasons. He then
went on to play a year professionally in Germany.
Andrew’s coaching career began with Queens University as
their assistant coach and he held this position for ten years. In 2022 he began
helping and coaching with his son’s teams within KAMHA. He has coached both the
IP and MD programs and is currently the associate coach with the U9 MD’s, as
well as helping with the U8 Wrangler’s team.
Team Vision for 2026/27
My vison for the U10 AAA program is rather simple, I want to
foster an environment that is comfortable for both athletes and families, an
environment that enables the development of players and the team as a unit.
While there are many talented kids at this age, I envision a program that
caters to those young athletes that love the sport and are committed to each
other and their development in the sport.
U11 – Brett Holmberg
Returning for his second year, Brett Holmberg continues to
bring his passion and experience to the program. In his spare time, Brett is
the owner and operator of Brett Holmberg Development hockey school where is
works with local athletes to build on the hockey skills. With over 15 years of
coaching and instructing experience in hockey and soccer from youth to pro
athletes, Brett strives to push his athletes to be their best. Brett is also
the Head coach of a local U17 Girls regional soccer team and trains multi sport
athletes in dryland and strength training. Brett is a former Jr. A hockey
player and semi pro and university soccer player. Brett also holds a fitness and health diploma from St. Lawrence college. Brett's mission is to help
athletes to reach their full potential while creating memorable experiences
along the way!
Team vision for 2026/27
My vision for the upcoming season is to build a competitive,
development-focused team that is committed to growth, accountability, and
excellence. My goal is to compete at a high level, challenge for a top
position in the standings, and push toward the OMHA finals. At the same time,
we recognize that meaningful success starts with strong habits, consistent
development, and a shared commitment to team standards.
Player development will remain my top priority. This
includes both individual skill progression and team-based systems play, with an
emphasis on power skating, small-area movement, flow drills, puck support, and
situational awareness. Practices will be structured, high-tempo, and purposeful,
with consistent feedback to help players understand both their strengths and
areas for growth. Focus will be on
building complete players who can think the game, compete hard, and execute
under pressure.
Team culture will be foundational to everything we do. I am
committed to creating a positive, safe, and competitive environment where
players feel supported, challenged, and respected. Establishing clear
expectations, strong communication, and mutual trust will allow our athletes to
perform with confidence and pride.
I expect strong effort, accountability, and sportsmanship
from every player. Effort is non-negotiable, and players will be encouraged to
respond positively to adversity and take ownership of their development.
I look forward to bringing together a group of athletes
who are committed to growth, teamwork, and pursuing meaningful success
throughout the season.
U12 – Sean Langdon
Originally from Ottawa, Sean grew up playing AAA minor
hockey in the Hockey Eastern Ontario (HEO) league. Drafted by the Kingston
Frontenacs in the 2000 OHL Priority Selection at age 16, he began his junior
career there before being traded to the Sudbury Wolves after his first two seasons. He competed in the OHL for four seasons (2000–2004).
In 2003, Sean earned an invitation to Ottawa Senators (NHL)
main camp, where he participated in several exhibition games. Following his
junior career, he continued his hockey journey at York University CIS (now U
SPORTS), balancing competitive play with completing his post-secondary degree.
Since retiring from playing, Sean has dedicated himself to
coaching competitive hockey at the AA and AAA levels. He has spent multiple
years with the Kingston Area Minor Hockey Association (KAMHA) and has led
Greater Kingston’s U10 and U11 AAA teams, bringing his on-ice experience to
develop the next generation of players. Sean is married with two children
and a local business owner in the community.
Coaching Philosophy/Team Vision for 2026-27
Commitment to fostering a positive, confidence building
environment that drives both individual growth and team performance. A
coaching approach which starts with coaching the fundamentals relentlessly;
skating, puck control, passing, and positioning because strong basics build
confident, reliable players who can execute under pressure. From there,
create a positive, high-energy environment on and off the ice that demands hard
work and discipline while teaching the real power of teamwork. Players
support each other, communicating constantly, and putting the team first to
compete as one unit. Success will be measured not only by wins and losses, but
by sustained motivation, personal improvement, and strong on ice results
through consistent encouragement. We will keep practices sharp and
competitive but always inject enough fun and engaging drills so the kids stay
motivated, enjoy the grind, and develop a genuine love for the game that lasts
beyond the season.
U13 – Rob Bagg
Rob Bagg is a former professional wide receiver who
played 11 seasons with the Saskatchewan Roughriders of the Canadian
Football League. A native of Kingston, Rob grew up playing hockey in the GK
program before attending Queen's
University. He is dedicated to developing accountable, respectful, and
hardworking individuals who are eager to learn, embrace teamwork, and welcome the challenge to compete and grow — on and off the
ice.
Team Vision for 2026/27
Our U13 program is built for athletes who are ready to
challenge themselves, grow their game, and be part of something special. We
provide a high-energy, competitive environment where players are supported,
pushed, and developed every single day.
Through focused strength and conditioning, detailed video
analysis, and structured systems, my athletes gain the tools they need to
elevate their performance and hockey IQ. Every practice, every game, and every
phase of the season is intentional – designed to build confidence, skill and
resilience.
I believe in developing complete players and strong
teammates. Accountability, leadership, and a team-first mindset are woven into
everything we do. Our season is thoughtfully planned with clear short- and
long-term goals, ensuring steady growth and helping our athletes peak when it
matters most.
