After suffering a horrible accident at the beginning of the season, Griffin's year of hockey seemed to be over. He battled back, and hit his rehab assignments hard. After many months of recovery, Griffin was able to join his teammates at the end of the season.
Barry Sands Award
Coach of the Year
Each year, GKHA recognizes a coach from the association who, while consistently displaying the values of the organization, has not only taught hockey and everything necessary around the game for young athletes to be successful, but who has also been above his mandate to build a unique, positive development environment for his team. The award has been graciously donated by the Sands family in commemoration of Mr. Barry Sands.
