Taylor Hall Cup Classic
The Minor Peewees had an amazing weekend competing in their home tournament the Taylor Hall Cup Classic.  The boys finished the round robin in a four way tie for first but landed the top seed due to an impressive +12 rating. They beat the Ottawa Valley Silver Sevens 4-0, They shut out the Oshawa Generals 3-0, Lost a tough one against Seaway Valley 1-0 with about 2 minutes to go in the game and then rebounded to a strong 7-1 victory over the Grey Bruce Highlanders.

That moved the boys in to the Semi-finals against Rideau St.Lawrence Kings. Despite giving up the first goal, the boys battled back to a 5-1 win moving them into the finals against Sea Way Valley. In the championship game, both teams traded chances but unfortunately Seaway Valley scored the go ahead goal with 1:37 left in the third period to win 4-3.

The Minor Peewees boys should be extremely proud of what they accomplished this weekend. On behalf of the team, we would like to thank the organizers, the teams who participated, the guest speakers, Taylor Hall for displaying his memorabilia, the friends and family who cheered on the boys and the countless volunteers who worked hard to make this a successful tournament.

The boys will work hard this week in practice to finish their regular season strong.

They host the Central Ontario Wolves Saturday at 5:30 at Invista Fineline Pad and then travel to Oshawa to face off against the Generals on Sunday.
