Leah Georgina, a Latin Canadian of Dominican Republic descent, is a self-taught, small-batch production potter who works from her home studio in Bath, Ontario. With a fresh take on wheel-thrown pottery, her functional pieces blend clean, simple, contemporary design with organic textures and forms, attracting a novel genre of interest in her work. Her finished pieces often embrace the natural texture and colour of the high-fired stoneware, keeping the surface of her work raw or partially glazed in clear or matte white. Leah has always been creative and expressive, and finds the soothing, calming craft of pottery a way of achieving balance and mindfulness - she hopes her pieces evoke that same peaceful feeling in others.×
