Another Top-16 Finish in London
Your GK Minor Midget spent Thanksgiving Weekend battling some top teams at the Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament in London. The team started off with a close 1-0 win over Huron-Perth, followed by a couple of ties (1-1 vs Vaughan Kings and 2-2 vs Sun County Panthers) to set up a must-win Game 4 versus the highly-ranked Southern Tier Admirals. After falling behind 1-0, GK battled back in the 3rd to tie and then go ahead 2-1. An empty net goal secured the 3-1 win which advanced GK to the Round of 16 vs the unbeaten Mississauga Rebels.
After falling behind quickly 3-0 in the 1st, GK rallied back to take the play to the Rebels in the 2nd and 3rd, but couldn't overcome the early deficit and ultimately fell 4-1 to Mississauga.
The team travels to Oshawa on Wednesday and Markham on Saturday before returning home for a Sunday evening match vs Richmond Hill
