The 2019 Taylor Hall Cup Classic Is In the Books.... A Great success.

On behalf of the Greater Kingston Jr Frontenac's organization, I would like to thank all the players, coaches, families and volunteers for a great weekend of exciting hockey, sportsmanship and memorable times.

We first wish to congratulate our 2019 champions:

Minor Atom:        Seaway Valley Rapids
Major Atom:        Waterloo Wolves
Minor Peewee:     Seaway Valley Rapids
Major Peewee:     Ottawa Myers

On Saturday, we were treated to a great Hockey Legends Hotstove with our local Legends hosted by Mark Potter.  The audience kept the panel going for just under 90 minutes of great stories, expert views on the state of the game and a question period.  Mark it on your calendar to attend next year as we want to keep this going as an annual component to our Taylor Hall event.

Sunday's championship games were all fast and close.  We wish to recognize our own Major Peewee and Minor Peewee club's for making the semi-finals and finals, respectively.  Coaches Don Thomas and Jason Sands, along with their coaching staff, did wonderful jobs to guide their teams to the levels they achieved this weekend.  Though our Kingston clubs fell just short of their ultimate goals, these players should hold their heads very high.  You all did a top job of making your club, families and Kingston proud!

On Sunday, Taylor's Mom, Kim, was on hand to help hand out the championship medals for silver and gold.  Kim wanted to express to the players that she was very impressed with the talent they all displayed on Sunday.

In closing I wish to thank the people who helped make this Tournament happen and such a huge success.  To my right hand man Chad MacDonald, I could not of done this without all of your help before and during this event.  Kevin Brown did a great job of handling Napanee for a second year in a row.  Many parents jumped on board to help work at the two venues.  Last, I wish to thank the Greater Kingston Midget team for their help all day long on Championship Sunday.

Please mark us on your calendars for the second weekend of January 2020.

Sincerely,

Philip MacLean
Tournament Chair
