Fit 2 be Tied
In ETA action this past
week, the Minor Bantam Frontenacs put together back to back 2-2 ties in two
very different games. If not for a last second breakaway save, the locals could
have very well squandered a point in a very lack lustre effort to the visiting
Clarington Toros.
The home town team gave up a third period lead to the last place Toros and held on for the 2-2 draw. Wednesday had the circle K’s hosting their eastern division rival Whitby Wildcats in a battle for second place in the east. The boys came out firing but found themselves trailing 2-0 midway through the game until potting two of their own three minutes apart to lock things up. They threw everything they could at the Wildcat net in the third outshooting the visitors 11-3 but could not find the back of the net again and thus ending in a 2-2 stalemate and banking the all-important point in the standings. The 2004’s hit the road to Hamilton this weekend for the Bulldogs Backspin Classic where they take on Guelph, Mississauga and Winnipeg in round robin action.
