Quarter Final Exit
The Hamilton Bulldog Backspin Classic was the backdrop to an exciting weekend of hockey this past weekend. Unfortunately for the Frontenacs, they came up against the very strong Winnipeg Monarchs (eventual champions) in the quarter final falling 3-0.

The game could have went either way for the most part with a goal called back that would of knotted it up at 1 in the third, but the Monarchs took advantage and scored a quick insurance marker before nailing it down with an empty netter. Game 1 of the tourney had the Fronts taking on a hot Guelph Gryphons team that hadn’t lost in 15 games and the boys didn’t disappoint as they scored one in each period and tacked on an empty netter to give the Gryphons the 4-1 loss. Game 2 of the round robin was against the previously mentioned Monarchs that saw the Fronts score the only goal in the tourney allowed by the Monarchs tying the contest at a 1-1 final. Game 3 Saturday had the locals up against the Mississauga Reps where they gave up the last goal regrettably and lost the contest 3-2. Game 4 was a playoff qualifying game versus the Niagara North Stars that had the circle K’s get out to a 2-0 lead in the first, give up three in the second before storming back with two in the last three minutes with the winner coming at eight seconds remaining to give the Fronts the 4-3 win and setting up the quarter final re-match with the Monarchs. The team gets back to league play by hitting the road for two in a tight eastern conference race at the Oshawa Generals Sunday 10th and Wednesday 13th  in Clarington to take on the Toros.
