Full Lineup Back As Standings Tighten
For the first time in over
two months the Minor Bantam Frontenacs were able to say that they were back at
full strength as they iced their lineup for a home game yesterday versus the
Peterborough Petes.
The home squad never lead the game but managed a power play goal early in the third to secure a tie 2-2. Every point is crucial as the ETA east standings are log jammed with four teams fighting for the last three playoff spots with two others hot on the trail to sneak in as well. The Clarington Toros are one of those other teams and they managed to steal a win from the Fronts last Wednesday in a late week night travel loss 3-2 with all the scoring coming in the third. Last Sunday, the locals scored with 22 seconds left on the clock as the Circle K’s stole a point from the home town Oshawa Generals as the game ended in another 2-2 tie marking the fourth 2-2 draw in the last four of five games for the Frontenacs. The Black & Yellow look to hit the holiday break in strong fashion as they go on the road for two this weekend closing out 2017 in Peterborough Friday and Clarington Saturday for four more vital points versus teams positioning themselves for the playoff run.
