.500 Start in 2018
The Minor Bantam Frontenacs have gotten off to a .500 record to start the calendar year 2018. It started with a road trip to Ajax on January 7th for a league contest with the defending OMHA champs.

The Raiders scored early while the Fronts could not get it going and took the loss with a 4-1 score. This past weekend the Fronts travelled to Stratford to participate in the Great Lakes Cup that had the locals finish 5th of 14 entrants and just missing out on the playoff round. The first game took a while to get going but then the flood gates opened to the tune of a 5-0 win over the Chatham-Kent Cyclones. Game 2 was up against the Sun County Panthers that saw the Panthers score on their first shift of the game to take the 1-0 lead. The back and forth game ended in a 1-1 draw as GK scored on their last shift of the game on the Power play with 17 seconds remaining. Saturday had the Fronts taking on the Cambridge Hawks where the locals scored late to take the game 3-2 to put themselves in a position to move on with a win or tie in their last game. That last game had the circle K’s up against the highly ranked Waterloo Wolves Saturday afternoon in the oldest operating rink in Canada (William Allman Memorial Arena – opened 1921). The Black & Gold got on the board first but allowed two PP goals against and ultimately fell to the Wolves 4-1 eliminating their chances for a Sunday Semi-final. The Frontenacs now move their focus to the final 11 league games to push for a OMHA playoff position. Central Ontario Wolves are the first on that road this Saturday 20th in Fenelon Falls 2pm. They are back home Sunday 21st Vs the Quinte Red Devils (6pm Invista). The players, team staff and families would also like to wish Owen Lindsay a quick and healthy recovery from his upper body injury.
