Parity Playing Part in Push for Playoff Position
Bet you can’t say that 5
times really fast………The parity in the minor bantam division is really starting
to play a role as ETA teams fight for playoff position where this past weekend
had the 04 Frontenacs grab only two of four potential points.
Saturday had the Fronts traveling to Fenelon Falls to take on the hard driving Central Ontario Wolves for an matinee game at 2pm. Kingston got on the board at the end of the first only to see the Wolves tie it up at the end of the second 1-1. The home town team potted another midway of the third period and held on to take the contest 2-1. Sunday had the Fronts back home to take on the first place Quinte Red Devils. The teams skated to a scoreless first period and then QRD took the lead on a five on three power play early in the second. The locals tied it up on the back half of that power play scoring shorthanded and then went on to score three more unanswered over a seven minute span to take a two goal lead to the intermission. The Devils scored one late in the third but the Circle K’s persevered to take the game with a final score of 4-3. The 2004 Frontenacs have an important three game weekend ahead as they take on teams just behind or just ahead in the standings with the Petes coming to town Friday night (8:45pm Invista), away in Oshawa Saturday and then the rubber match back in Peterborough Sunday afternoon.
