Fronts Crowned by Kings in Semis
The Peewee Frontenacs had another exciting tournament in Toronto this past weekend by making it to the semifinals before bowing out to the host Vaughan Kings Sunday morning. Things started up on Friday with the locals taking on the Sudbury Wolves where things started slowly until the boys exploded for 4 goals in the third to take the opening game 6-1.

Ben Albright lead the fronts with 1 goal and 3 assists while other scorers were Kevin Fitzgerald, Blake Aylesworth, Jacob McLellan, Grayson Ebrahim and Wyatt Ottenhof. Helpers went to Aylesworth (2), Ben Campeau (2), Jackson Barnes, Lane Morency, Boden White, Andrew Botting and McLellan. Brady Spry went the distance in the cage for the W. Game 2 had the boys up against the Toronto Nationals in a back and forth contest with the Fronts scoring the last marker for the 4-3 win. Nolan Lalonde was up next between the pipes while the snipers were Nathan Woods, Albright, Botting and White with the winner. Assists went to Morency, Ebrahim, Fitzgerald, Campeau and Ottenhof. Saturday morning had the boys up against the host Vaughan Kings which ended up being the first of two battles. The Kings took an early 2 goal lead until the boys tied it in the 2nd but the Kings pulled away with 3 unanswered for the 5-2 win. Ottenhof and Ebrahim notched the markers with helpers going to Botting, Aylesworth and Morency. Spry took the loss in the net. Game 4 had the boys in a must win situation to make the semi’s versus the St. John’s Hitmen of Newfoundland. The locals pounded 40 shots on the net and skated away with the 3-1 win needed to make it to Sunday. Botting got the scoring going with Aylesworth closing it off with the final 2 markers. Morency had 2 assists, while others went to Campeau, Ottenhof, Albright and Woods. Lalonde was back in net for the win. The Semi Sunday match up had the circle K’s back up against the Kings where 5 unanswered goals proved too much and the locals fell with another 5-2 loss. Lalonde and Spry split net duties with Campeau and Ian MacDonnell scoring the goals. The lone assist went to Ottenhof. The Peewee’s now head back out on the road for league action to close out 2016 versus York-Simcoe, Quinte and Whitby.
