The Minor Bantams had a
tough week in more than one way as the short staffed Fronts dropped two of
three games and lost two defenseman to long term wrist injuries.
The 3 game schedule started with a midweek trip down the 401 to the home of the first place QRD’s this past Wednesday. This exciting game featured all kind of goals; even strength, power play, shorthanded, empty net and 4 lead changes which unfortunately the Fronts ended up on the wrong side of taking the 6-4 loss. Still short 1 D-man, the 04’s hosted the Oshawa Generals Saturday and battled their way to a hard fought 3-1 victory but finished the match down 2 more defenseman. The Generals camped out in Kingston for the night and suited up at the Invista for a Sunday rematch. Although the Fronts got 1 D-man back in the lineup to start the contest at 4, it was short lived as another one went down the first shift of the game. The boys put in a great effort to adjust positions everywhere but could not overcome three power play goals against and ultimately fell 4-2 to the Generals. The Circle K’s will regroup this week and get ready for their northern swing to take on Barrie and North Central next weekend. The players, staff and families wish Jacob Froats and Dylan Garrison a quick and healthy recovery!
